Mr. Steve Smith, Chief Executive Officer and President, Triad Business Ventures, LLC.

Steve Smith is a native Oklahoman and a native Tulsan, and has lived in Tulsa all of his life.  He graduated from East Central High School in 1981, and went on to receive a degree in Business Management from Oral Roberts University in 1985.  He is a member of Open Bible Fellowship Church.

Steve has worked over 25 years for The Crosby Group, a Tulsa-based manufacturer of wire rope fittings and industrial lifting equipment.  He has worked in a variety of positions with the company, including supervisory roles, and is currently the Manager of International Block and Sheave Centers.  He is in charge of the Asian Block and Sheave Center in Singapore, and is responsible for all production of Crane Blocks and Sheaves at this facility.  Future plans call for additional Centers in the Czech Republic, China, Brazil and potentially Canada, all of which will operate under the “template” that he developed in Singapore.  Mr. Smith managed this “startup” completely on his own, developing vendors, handling inquiries, sales, customer service, and shipments.  He researched all of Asia for potential sales opportunities, visiting Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Philippines, Indonesia, South Korea, Japan and even Sakhalin Island Russia.  He had to negotiate with suppliers and vendors, performed vendor audits for quality inspections, and negotiated costs to be utilized as the new base costs for Asia.  This project was literally developed from the ground up, and Steve developed and setup completely new systems and procedures to be utilized in all Block and Sheave Centers.  In working with the subcontractor, Mr. Smith had to get involved to enhance their efficiency and cut production times and costs.  He also regularly researches economic trends throughout Asia to develop new markets and new customers.  This constant research of economics and economic incentives throughout Asia helps to develop more cost advantages to be utilized by Crosby.  The most exciting and challenging event in this new venture involved a seminar in Sakhalin Island, Russia, which was Crosby’s first ever venture into that region.  On very short notice, Steve was assigned to investigate the economic potential for Crosby in the region, and had to quickly produce a new Marketing display for this event.  Through detailed research and contacting many companies in the region, Mr. Smith developed solid contacts throughout the industry in Sakhalin.  During the seminar, Mr. Smith developed many sales leads, but primarily was looking for a potential partner.  His contacts and efforts helped to develop a new Sakhalin Distributor for Crosby in a Joint Venture with a USA Distributor.  The market potential is $2,000,000 annually from this region that was previously undiscovered.  Steve also
has been selected to head numerous special projects reporting directly to the President.

Steve has also owned his own business as a financial services representative for over 19 years, assisting families with investments, retirement planning and debt reduction.  Mr. Smith is also one of the Founders of Triad Business Ventures, LLC, a consulting firm specializing in helping entrepreneurs, small businesses, and corporate clients through development of comprehensive business plans, obtaining capital, and additional business development after launching their new ventures.

Mr. Smith’s extensive business experience in numerous domestic and international positions has given him well-developed skills in leadership, management, finance, and marketing.  He is a proven problem solver and is gifted with a high degree of creativity and innovation. He also specializes in identifying organizational redundancy and devising effective strategies resulting in procedural efficiency, cost reductions and enhanced productivity and profitability.

Mr. Smith is an expert in researching market trends and business opportunities in order to develop visionary strategies to assure favorable market positioning.  His insight and accuracy into the potential success or failure of an entrepreneurial venture is invaluable to Triad’s clients.
